Preparing God's Word for your heart
“The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever.”
Isaiah 40:8
Take time. Give God time to reveal Himself to you. Give yourself time to be silent and quiet before Him, waiting to receive through the Spirit the assurance of His presence with you, His power working in you.
Take time to read His Word as in His presence; that from it you may know what He asks of you and what He promises you.
Let the Word create around you, create within you, a holy heavenly light in which your soul will be refreshed and strengthened for the work of daily life. ANDREW MURRAY
We repeatedly come upon entries in the diary of Dr. Chalmers, which express what he called the “morning grace of appropriation”:
“Began my first waking moments with confident hold upon Christ as my Savior.”
“A day of quietness.”
“My faith took hold of the precious promises this morning.”
“The morning makes the entire day. To think of morning is to think of a bloom and fragrance which if missed, cannot be overtaken later on in the day.
The Lord stands upon the shore in the morning and reveals Himself to the weary, disillusioned men who had toiled all night and taken nothing.
He ever stands upon life’s most dreary and time-worn shores, and as we gaze upon Him the shadows flee and it is morning.”
I met God in the morning When the day was at its best, And His presence came like glory Of the sunrise in my breast.
All day long the Presence lingered, All day long He stayed with me, And we sailed in perfect calmness O’er a very troubled sea.
Other ships were blown and battered, Other ships were sore distressed.
But the winds that seemed to drive them, Brought to us a peace and rest.
Then I thought of other mornings, With a keen remorse of mind.
When I too, had loosed the moorings With the Presence left behind.
And I think I know the secret, Learned from many a troubled way; You must seek God in the morning If you want Him through the day.

The early morning hour has always been a time of visions. What discoveries the saints have made while others slept!
