Daily Light on the Daily PathEvening β€’ February 24

I know, O Lord , that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.

Thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.

I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfortably unto her.β€”As a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee.β€”Now no chastening for the present, seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.β€”Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.
