Philippians 2:3

Gideon said unto them, I would desire a request of you, that ye would give me every man the earrings of his prey. (For they had golden earrings, because they were Ishmaelites.)

And they answered, We will willingly give them. And they spread a garment, and did cast therein every man the earrings of his prey. And Gideon made an ephod thereof, and put it in his city, even in Ophrah: and all Israel went thither a whoring after it: which thing became a snare unto Gideon, and to his house.

Christ suffered for us, leaving us an example that ye should follow his steps.

Even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister.—Whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.

Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.

Not unto us, O Lord , not unto us, but unto thy name give glory.—Lord, when saw we thee a hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?—In lowliness of mind, let each esteem other better than themselves.—Be clothed with humility.
