As the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?βI am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live; yet not I but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.βHe died for all, that they which live should not live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them and rose again.βIf any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
We are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ.βAs thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us.βYe are the body of Christ, and members in particular.βBecause I live, ye shall live also.
I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me forever, for the good of them, and of their children after them.
A new heart . . . will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you.βGood and upright is the Lord : therefore will he teach sinners in the way. The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
When God speaks, many of us are like men in a fog, we give no answer.
Moses' reply revealed that he was somewhere. Readiness means a right relationship to God and a knowledge of where we are at present. We are so busy telling God where we would like to go. The man or woman who is ready for God and His work is the one who carries off the prize when the summons comes. We wait with the idea of some great opportunity, something sensational, and when it comes we are quick to cry - "Here am I." Whenever Jesus Christ is in the ascendant, we are there, but we are not ready for an obscure duty.
If you are going through a solitary way, read John 17, it will explain exactly why you are where you are - Jesus has prayed that you may be one with the Father as He is.
Are you helping God to answer that prayer, or have you some other end for your life? Since you became a disciple you cannot be as independent as you used to be.
