As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth. For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more.
So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to wisdom.βWhat shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.βYet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light.
