I beseech thee shew me thy glory. And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.βNo man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
Every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him.βI shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh.
I saw . . . the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.
Above it stood the seraphims. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory.βThese things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.βUpon the likeness of the throne was the likeness . . . of a man above upon it. As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord .
